The Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) is responsible for developing Norwegian Scenic Routes as an Scenic Routes Section, with their main office at Lillehammer.
In order to ensure high visual quality of scenic viewpoints and picnic areas along the routes the NPRA has attached an Architecture Council. Members of the Architecture Council include an architect, a landscape architect, and a visual artist. An arts curator has also been appointed to ensure that internationally valuable works of art are part of the Norwegian Scenic Route experience.
The Scenic Routes Forum aims to present the Scenic Routes initiative within and outside of its members’ own organisations, and help ensure that Scenic Routes are used actively as a policy instrument in line with the purpose of the initiative. The forum is also to advise the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (owner of the attraction) and ensure that the long-term Scenic Routes efforts are continued as intended.
