Gornitak

The name Gornitak (in Sámi: Gorgŋetak) means ascent, the place where you come ashore and can start the climb up the mountain.

Using an original stone house at Nesseby on the Varanger fjord as a point of departure, the architect has designed a rest area that has given new life to this site, which was used for storing ammunition during World War II. The stone house has now been restored and contains the service facilities for the rest area.
