Sluppen rest area is a popular stop on the Norwegian Scenic Route Aurlandsfjellet.
The area is located along the narrow and winding County Road 243 ascending from Lærdal, with a splendid view and ample access to trails and a beautiful waterfall.
What used to be a parking lay-by has now been upgraded to a simple rest area with room for four cars and a picnic table with universal access. On a specially prepared footpath with benches, people can stroll down to the river and access the waterfall on a simpler trail.
